SAN FRANCISCO — Former NRL star Sam Burgess has confirmed he is mulling a comeback.
Burgess played 17 games in a three-year stint with the Rabbitohs and returned to the NRL with the Blues in 2017, scoring eight tries and winning a flag.
However, the 37-year-old has not played a single NRL game since 2016, when he made his debut for the Rabbitowes.
Bunges was released by the Blues on Thursday.
“I’ve been trying to think of it for a while, but it just seems too much to ask,” Burgess told The Daily Telegraph.
“I’m just going to wait and see what happens.
I’m just hoping to make the most of this opportunity that I have here.
The Blues have been my first choice, and I’ve done pretty well with them.
It’s not just the Blues but the whole country has been great.
There’s no pressure, and no pressure is the same as being in the NRL.”
Burgesses was released from the Blues last month.
